Startup Idea #7 Online Parking Reservation for Cars

Parking through mobile. Hassle Free Online Parking Reservation system

 Places:

  • Shopping / Movie Complexes
  • New age Shopping Malls
  • Airports
  • Premium Hospitals
  • Parking Spaces

Problem:

When ever we book a ticket for a movie in a mall along with a family or with spouse or with friends, we take our car. It’s very frustrating to find the parking space in the shopping complex malls as many keep their car for long hours. We got to lose our patience and go through rounds to find the parking slot. We end up parking somewhere and spoil ourselves.

Instead, how about a reserved parking which when booked via app, your space is allocated for your time. You come and park and enjoy your evening or shopping.

Objective:

To find and reserve a car parking in malls / airport / shopping centre before arriving there.

Solution:

  • Open the App.
  • Select City and Mall.
  • Reserve Parking for ‘n’ of hours on the same day or advance.
  • Make Payment through Paytm Wallet
  • Enjoy hassle free parking at the venue.

Features:

All parking will be technology enabled. Users can use their phone for authentication at the parking entrance.

  • Vehicle Locator via Indoor Mapping
  • Basic Parking

This is the basic of all parking. You drive in and park at the free places available in parking slots.

  • Premium Parking

This is parking especially for high range / high value cars

  • Valet Parking

This is for VIP parking. Parking assistant will help in driving the car in and out of the parking slot.

Revenue Model:

As of today, many users who drive with car into malls, end up paying ~100 Rs as parking charge. Remember, per day, there are 100s or 1000s of cars are coming in and out in weekdays.

In weekends, it will be very high. There are multiple ways we could charge the customer for parking.

  • Weekday Parking
  • Weekends Parking
  • Peak Hour Parking

Users can Advance book the parking based on their movie ticket well before a week something like we book in trains. In that ways, Malls can relax w.r.t to parking. Users can reserve parking and enjoy hassle free parking.

ARPU will be 100 – 200 INR Range. If 1000 cars are parked, it will be 1 Lakh per day per mall. This can scale well globally.

Technology:

  • Mobile App – Begin with Android platform
  • With Parking Slots served from a Database Backend
  • Dashboard for parking managers.
